Wednesday, May 3, 2:00PM - 3:30PM
Emily Magruder, Director, CSU Institute for Teaching and Learning
ZOOM Digital MeetUp
Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) and Faculty Interest Groups (FIGs) engage small groups of 6 to 15 people in structured exploration of a topic of common interest over 6 months or a year. They provide safety and support as faculty try new things with students, and they usually culminate with presentations of the results of individual or collaborative projects. Such faculty-led communities can positively impact culture and climate over time. This MeetUp will explore what FLCs and FIGs are, why and how they work, and suggest processes for getting one started.
